Turkic Week Kicks Off in Geneva with Exhibitions, Conferences, and Music Performances

Turkic Week, an event aimed at promoting the cultural heritage and arts of the Turkic world, has begun in Geneva, Switzerland. The program, which started on Monday, features a wide range of activities, including exhibitions, conferences, and musical performances.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, presenting unique works by Turkic artists on themes such as 'Woman in the Turkic World', 'Silk Road', and the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi. The exhibition showcases Turkic handicrafts, paintings, and a photo exhibition titled 'Turkic World on the Silk Way'.

The event is organized by the United Nations Office at Geneva, the World Intellectual Property Organization, and the Geneva Conservatory, in cooperation with various Turkic organizations, including the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the International Organization of Turkic Culture, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, and the Turkic Academy. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from these organizations, as well as the Turkish community in Geneva.

Kubanychbek Omuraliev, the Secretary General of the OTS, welcomed the attendees and highlighted the significance of the event in showcasing the rich Turkic heritage and culture on the international stage. Azerbaijan was represented in the exhibition with a special corner.

The program includes thematic panels, art exhibitions, and a gala concert featuring 30 artists from seven Turkic countries, namely Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Türkiye, and Sakha-Yakutia (Russian Federation). The gala concert will be held on April 23 at the Geneva Conservatory.
