UP Board to Announce Class 10th and 12th Results, Toppers List for 55 Lakh Students

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) is set to release the much-awaited UP Board Class 10th and 12th results for the academic year 2024 today, April 20, at 2:00 PM. Along with the results, the board will also announce the toppers list and district-wise pass percentage for a total of 55,25,308 registered students, including 29,47,311 for Class 10 and 25,77,997 for Class 12.

The UP Board conducted the high school and intermediate exams from February 22 to March 9, 2024. However, 3,24,008 students were absent from the exams, comprising 1,84,986 from Class 10 and 1,39,022 from Class 12. The evaluation process for the exams was completed in a record time of 13 working days by 1,47,097 examiners across the state.

Students can check their individual results on the official websites of the UP Board at upmsp.edu.in and upresults.nic.in by entering their roll number and school code. The board will provide the results in grade format, and students can also access their scorecards via SMS and the DigiLocker app.

Why this matters: The UP Board exam results hold significant importance for the large student population in Uttar Pradesh, as they determine their eligibility for higher education and future career prospects. The timely declaration of results and the recognition of top performers serve as a motivation for students and schools to strive for academic excellence.

Last year, the overall pass percentage for Class 10 was 89.78%, with girls outperforming boys at 93.34%. In Class 12, the pass percentage stood at 75.52%. To qualify the UP Board exams, students need to secure a minimum of 33% marks in each subject. Those who fail in one or two subjects will have the opportunity to appear for compartment exams.

UPMSP Secretary Divyakant Shukla will announce the results in a press conference at the board's headquarters in Prayagraj. "We have completed the evaluation process in record time to ensure the timely declaration of results. The board has implemented several measures to maintain the integrity and transparency of the examination process," Shukla stated.
