ABS-CBN Corporation and Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS) have signed a content agreement that will bring beloved Filipino entertainment programs and news back to Channel 2 through the free-to-air channel ALLTV. The partnership, formalized during a contract signing ceremony on April 24, 2024, aims to deliver enjoyable, enriching, and informative content to a wider audience.

Under the content agreements, ALLTV will host the airing of nostalgic Kapamilya shows under the Jeepney TV brand and simulcast the longest-running primetime newscast in the country, TV Patrol. Starting May 13, ALLTV viewers will be able to watch a selection of classic ABS-CBN teleseryes throughout the day, including primetime slots, as well as the latest news updates from TV Patrol.

The contract signing ceremony was attended by representatives from both companies, including Manny Villar, Sen. Mark Villar, Paolo Villar, and Camille Villar from the Villar Group, and Mark Lopez, Carlo Katigbak, Cory Vidanes, Rick Tan, and Bobby Barreiro from ABS-CBN. "We are very happy to be back on Channel 2 and I think our stars are also excited that their shows will be seen on Channel 2 again," said ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak.

This partnership marks a significant milestone for ABS-CBN, as it bridges the gap between the network and its loyal audience since its shutdown in May 2020. Despite the non-renewal of its congressional franchise, ABS-CBN has been exploring partnerships with various digital platforms and TV channels to continue delivering content to viewers.

Why this matters: The collaboration between ABS-CBN and ALLTV brings iconic Filipino entertainment and essential news back to free-to-air television, making it accessible to a broader audience nationwide. This partnership signifies the resilience and adaptability of the Philippine media industry in the face of challenges and changes.

ALLTV, available on Channel 2 on free TV, cable, and satellite TV nationwide, aims to deliver ABS-CBN's content to more households across the country. The partnership is expected to be long and fruitful, with both companies expressing their excitement and commitment to providing quality entertainment and news to the Filipino people.
