Thousands of people took part in the Veer Hanuman Vijay Yatra procession in Hyderabad on Hanuman Jayanti on Tuesday. The procession, organized by various Hindu organizations including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, started from Gowliguda Ram Mandir and passed through several areas of the city before another rally joined from Karmanghat Hanuman Mandir at Koti Women's College.

BJP candidate Madhavi Latha and Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh participated in the procession. People danced to music as DJs played religious songs along the route. Volunteer groups set up stages and provided refreshments to those taking part.

The police made elaborate security arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. Rapid Action Force, Commissioner's Task Force, and Central Armed Police Forces were deployed to maintain law and order.

Why this matters: The large-scale participation in the Veer Hanuman Vijay Yatra highlights the significance of Hanuman Jayanti for the Hindu community. The event also demonstrates the mobilization efforts of Hindu organizations and the BJP in Hyderabad.

Earlier on Tuesday, thousands of BJP supporters led by Hyderabad Lok Sabha candidate Madhavi Latha also took out a rally from Charminar to file her nomination papers. "While Muslim women studying in madrasas can wear Hijab, a religious dress code cannot be allowed in common schools," Latha stated, referring to a recent controversy over an edited video targeting her during a Ram Navami procession.
