Maruti Suzuki Dealerships Accept Unofficial Bookings for New Swift Ahead of May Launch

Maruti Suzuki dealerships across India have started accepting unofficial bookings for the upcoming fourth-generation Swift hatchback. Customers can now secure their spot in line for the new model by placing a token amount of ₹11,000 at select Maruti Suzuki Arena outlets. The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is slated for an official launch in May 2024.

The new-generation Swift will feature an updated exterior design, including a refreshed front grille, bumpers, LED headlamps and taillights, and newly designed alloy wheels. The rear door handles have been moved from the C-pillar to a more conventional placement. Inside the cabin, the Swift will receive significant upgrades such as a floating touchscreen infotainment system and a larger multi-information display (MID) unit for the instrument console.

Under the hood, the 2024 Swift will be powered by a new 1.2-litre Z-Series (Z12E) petrol engine, replacing the current 1.2-litre K-Series (K12C) motor. The new engine will be available with both manual and automated manual transmission (AMT) options. Maruti Suzuki is also expected to offer a CNG variant of the Swift to cater to the growing demand for alternative fuel options.

Why this matters: The Maruti Suzuki Swift has been one of the best-selling cars in India for over a decade. The launch of the fourth-generation model is highly anticipated by customers and industry experts alike. The updated design, features, and powertrain options are expected to further strengthen the Swift's position in the competitive hatchback segment.

While the official variant lineup and pricing details are yet to be revealed, industry sources suggest that the new Swift will continue to be offered in the popular LXi, VXi, ZXi, and range-topping ZXi+ trims. Maruti Suzuki aims to captivate a wider audience with the introduction of potential higher variants to cater to the discerning preferences of private customers. "The Swift has been a game-changer for Maruti Suzuki, and with the new generation, we aim to exceed customer expectations in terms of design, performance, and features," said a company spokesperson.
