Mumbai's Western Suburbs to Face 100% Water Cut for Pipeline Upgrade

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a 100% water cut in the Malad, Goregaon, and Kandivali areas of Mumbai's western suburbs from April 23 to 24, 2024. The water supply will be affected from 10 AM on April 23 to 10 AM on April 24 to enable the upgrading of a 600 mm to 900 mm diameter pipeline.

The BMC stated that the pipeline replacement is being done to enhance water flow, and the pipeline will be shut during the operation to avoid water wastage. The civic body has appealed to citizens to use water cautiously during this period.

The affected areas include Goregaon (Veetabhatti, Koyna Colony, Scotters Colony, Kama Industrial Estate, Rohidas Nagar, Sharma Estate, Pandurangwadi, Gokuldham, Jayaprakash Nagar, Naikwadi, Gogtewadi, Kanyapada, Koyna Colony, I.B. Patel Marg, Yashodham, Santosh Nagar, Vishweshwar Marg, Pravasi Industrial Estate, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Aarey Marg, Shreyas Colony), Malad East (Dutt Mandir Marg, Daftari Marg, Khot Kuwa Marg, Khot Dongri, Makrani Pada, Haji Bapu Marg, Tanaji Nagar, Kurar Gaon, Raheja Complex, Saibaba Mandir, Vasant Valley, Pimpri Pada, Pal Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, M.H.B. The BMC will be replacing a 600 mm diameter water pipe with a 900 mm diameter water line at Virwani Industrial Estate, Goregaon (East) on April 23. The work is anticipated to be completed in 24 hours. "The water supply will be restored on April 24 in areas such as Pandurang Wadi, Gokuldham, Jayprakash Nagar, Naikwadi, Gogatewadi, Kanyapada, and others," a BMC official said.</p
