The Lagos State Government has arrested 10 individuals posing as enforcement officials in the Cele/Itire area of the state. The suspects were caught carrying out unauthorized enforcement exercises using fake ID cards. "The arrests were made in response to complaints registered at the Ministry of Transportation by concerned citizens," said Mr. Olawale Musa, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transportation.

Musa confirmed that the individuals apprehended are not members of the Ministry's staff and will be charged to court. The tow trucks, identification cards, and other equipment owned by the suspects have been seized by the State Government. "The suspects are not members of the ministry's staff and will face the full wrath of the law," Musa stated.

Why this matters: The arrests highlight the Lagos State Government's commitment to maintaining law and order and safeguarding citizens from unauthorized enforcement activities. The incident also underscores the importance of public vigilance in reporting illegal activities to the appropriate authorities.

The Lagos State Government has urged the public to report any unlawful activities to the Ministry of Transportation through designated phone lines. Musa reiterated the government's commitment to maintaining law and order and warned against individuals or groups carrying out unauthorized enforcement activities.

The arrested suspects, who were not actual employees of the Ministry of Transportation, were using counterfeit ID cards to deceive motorists.
