In the opening matches of the $500,000 BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 Counter-Strike 2 tournament in Belgrade, Serbia, MOUZ and Virtus.pro secured decisive 2-0 victories, advancing to the next round of the competition.

MOUZ showcased their strength by defeating BetBoom Team, winning 13-11 on Dust II and 16-12 in overtime on Vertigo. Adam "torzsi" Torzsas of Hungary led the charge for MOUZ, racking up an impressive 41 kills and a plus-16 kills-deaths differential.

Meanwhile, Virtus.pro demonstrated their prowess against Team Falcons, emerging victorious with a 16-13 overtime win on Vertigo and a commanding 13-5 triumph on Mirage. Petr "fame" Bolyshev of Russia spearheaded Virtus.pro's effort, amassing 45 kills and a plus-17 kills-deaths differential.

In a post-match interview with HLTV, Bolyshev shared his thoughts on Virtus.pro's performance and expectations. "From my perspective, the game was not easy. It was hard on Vertigo, super hard. We were losing, we were making a comeback, and it was such a hard map," he admitted. Despite the challenges, Bolyshev expressed satisfaction with the win and acknowledged the team's room for improvement.

Bolyshev also praised the integration of Denis "electroNic" Sharipov into the team, noting that his faster playstyle sometimes clashes with the team's usual pace but brings a positive element to their gameplay. "I think it's not the problem, but sometimes we can lose some rounds, some anti-eco or anti-force rounds because of that. But overall, I like it because it's better for me when some guy like electronic can call some things which people don't expect, and we win rounds," he explained.

Bolyshev expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming matches, particularly against strong teams like MOUZ and Team Spirit. "I always want to win every tournament that I'm playing. For me, it's going to be interesting to face teams like MOUZ or Spirit that are very strong and are winning tier-one tournaments," he stated.
