Air India Launches Delhi-Dubai Flights with New Airbus A350-900 Aircraft

Air India has launched new flights on the Delhi-Dubai route using its brand-new Airbus A350-900 aircraft, becoming the sole carrier to operate the A350 between India and Dubai. The launch of these flights marks the international debut of Air India's recently acquired A350 aircraft.

The A350-900 features a three-class cabin configuration with 316 seats, including 28 private Business suites, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 264 Economy seats. All seats are equipped with the latest-generation Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system, providing passengers with a superior travel experience.

Air India currently operates a total of 72 flights per week to Dubai from five Indian cities, with 32 flights originating from Delhi. The new A350 flights between Delhi and Dubai will operate daily, with AI995 departing Delhi at 8:45 pm and arriving in Dubai at 10:45 pm, and AI996 departing Dubai at 12:15 am and arriving in Delhi at 4:55 am.

The launch of the new A350 flights was celebrated with pre-departure ceremonies at both airports, attended by Indian and Dubai government officials. "The introduction of the A350 aircraft is a significant milestone for Air India as we continue to modernize our fleet and enhance our passenger experience," said an Air India spokesperson.

Why this matters: The induction of the A350-900 aircraft is part of Air India's historic order for 470 aircraft from Airbus and Boeing, to be delivered over the next five years. The A350-900 is expected to enhance Air India's position in the market due to its fuel efficiency and competitive edge in long-haul travel.

Air India started inducting the A350s earlier this year as part of a larger order for 470 new aircraft. The airline's fleet modernization plan aims to strengthen its domestic and international network, offering passengers a world-class travel experience. With the launch of the Delhi-Dubai A350 flights, Air India has taken a significant step towards achieving its goal of becoming a leading global carrier.
