Bryce Leatherwood Releases Heartfelt Debut Single Inspired by Mom and Girlfriend

Rising country star Bryce Leatherwood, 24, has released his debut single "The One My Daddy Found" during his ongoing Neon Does tour. The heartfelt song, inspired by Leatherwood's mother and girlfriend, expresses his desire to find a woman like his mom.

Leatherwood, a native of Hickory Flat, Georgia, developed a passion for traditional country music at an early age while working on his grandfather's farm. Exposure to classic hits by George Jones, Merle Haggard, and Conway Twitty inspired him to pick up the guitar and start playing. After forming his band in college, Leatherwood began performing around the Southeast before winning Season 22 of "The Voice" and moving to Nashville to pursue music with Universal Music Group Nashville/Republic Records.

"The One My Daddy Found" was written in March 2023 with legendary songwriters Lynn Hutton and Chris Dubois. The lyrics specifically describe Leatherwood's mother, whom he calls "an angel," and his hope to find a similar woman. "I just hope to find a woman like my mother," Leatherwood shared. "[My mom] is an angel and I just want to find one like the woman my daddy found."

Leatherwood's girlfriend, whose identity he prefers to keep private, was also an inspiration for the song. "She is a blessing in my life," he said. "She brings a lot of happiness and a lot of peace to my life in a time where everything's crazy." The music video for the single tells the 25-year love story of Leatherwood's parents.

The young singer values the connection with his fans, which he calls "literally the most important part of country music." Leatherwood often stays after shows to interact with his dedicated fanbase. He will be bringing his traditional country flair to the River Rock Music Fest in Etowah River Park on July 26, with 90s country star Mark Chesnutt closing out the event on July 27.

"The One My Daddy Found" marks Leatherwood's second single, following his debut release "The Finger" last year after winning "The Voice." The deeply personal song showcases Leatherwood's traditional country roots and strong family values. As his star continues to rise, fans can look forward to more heartfelt music from this talented young artist on his journey in the country music world.
