GAT Expo Cartagena Draws Global Crowd, Announces UpcomingEvents

The Gaming & Technology Expo (GAT Events) has announced the resounding success of its recent event, GAT Expo Cartagena, held from April 9 to 11 in Cartagena, Colombia. The expo attracted a record 2,570 visitors from 40 countries, featuring 75 exhibitors showcasing the latest innovations in the gaming industry.

Why this matters: The growth of the gaming industry in Latin America has significant implications for the region's economic development and job creation. As the industry continues to expand, it is likely to attract more investment and attention from governments and regulatory bodies, shaping the future of gaming and technology in the region.

Delegates from around the world attended the event, including representatives from Armenia, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Costa Rica, Curacao, Denmark, Ecuador, England, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Holland, India, Israel, Isle of Man, Italy, Macedonia, Malta, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, South Africa, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela, and the host country, Colombia.

The expo brought together entrepreneurs from all continents, focusing on growth, regulation, and expectations in the Latin American gaming industry. Colombia, Peru, and Argentina had the largest number of operators and visitors in attendance. The academic session on April 9 was a particular highlight, with 36 conference speakers and 350 participants.

Building on the momentum of the Cartagena event, GAT Events has announced its upcoming schedule. GAT Showcase Bogotá is set for September 6 at the Sheraton Hotel in Bogotá, Colombia. This one-day exhibition has already attracted several confirmed participants, with Pragmatic Play taking a privileged position as a Sponsor, alongside Novomatic, Win Systems, IGT, Interblock, BetConstruct, and Pay Retailers.

Other upcoming events include GAT Santo Domingo on September 18-19 at the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel & Casino in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and GAT Cancun later this year in Cancun, Mexico. The 2025 edition of GAT Expo Cartagena has also been confirmed for April 8-10 at the Cartagena Las Americas Convention Center.

José Aníbal Aguirre, CEO of GAT, reflected on the success of the Cartagena event, stating,"It is evident the growth of the Colombian show from its 25th anniversary. We see it as the starting point for a new season of the brand, which will be increasingly international, strengthening the academic content and the inclusion of cultural and artistic events. Of course, eSports will be strengthened in the GAT agendas."

As part of this commitment to eSports, GAT Events will hold the GAT eSports Academy on September 5, featuring prominent personalities and institutions focused on eSports regulation and professionalization. An eSports experience will also be held during GAT Showcase Bogotá.

The success of GAT Expo Cartagena 2024, with its record-breaking attendance and global participation, underscores the growing importance of the gaming industry in Latin America. As GAT Events continues to expand its reach with upcoming events in Colombia, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico, it is clear that the company is committed to strengthening its position as a leader in organizing world-class gaming and technology events in the region.
