A new musical game show, "Oppi Noot", is set to premiere on kykNET (DStv channel 144) on June 5, 2024. Hosted by Emo Adams, the show will feature a dynamic format with singers participating in various music challenges, earning points and competing for cash prizes.

One of the show's unique aspects is its interactive element, allowing three lucky viewers to become "on-air-partners" or "lugvennote", earning money based on their singing companions' success. The contestants come from diverse backgrounds, including professionals, students, project managers, and real estate agents, all united by their passion for singing.

According to host Emo Adams, the show is designed to be family-friendly entertainment. "You might not know the song, but someone older or younger in your family might. Everyone will want to join in," Adams said.

"Oppi Noot" is produced by Stemmburg Television, known for hit shows like "Noot vir noot" and "Musiekroulette", led by Johan Stemmet and his son Carl. The live orchestra will be directed by acclaimed musical artist, Jaconell Mouton.

For those who miss the live broadcast, episodes will be available on Catch Up on DStv Stream. "Oppi Noot" is set to bring a fresh, interactive musical experience to South African television, showcasing the country's diverse singing talent and providing family-friendly entertainment.
