Orville Peck Releases Star-Studded Duets Album 'Stampede: Vol. 1'

Masked country singer-songwriter Orville Peck has released his highly anticipatedduets album, "Stampede: Vol. 1," today through Warner Records. The project, which features collaborations with legendary artists such as Willie Nelson and Elton John, as well as modern favorites like Midland, Allison Russell, and Noah Cyrus, consists of seven tracks that showcase Peck's unique blend of classic country and contemporary style.

The album's lead single, "Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond Of Each Other," is a reimagined version of the 1981 LGBTQ+ country anthem, originally recorded by Ned Sublette. Willie Nelson, who covered the song in 2006, joins Peck on this powerful rendition, which is accompanied by a striking video directed by Ben Prince. "Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond Of Each Other"was the spark that ignited the larger "Stampede" project, as Peck revealed that the idea for the duets album was born when Nelson asked him to record the song together.

Other notable collaborations on "Stampede: Vol. 1" include a cover of Elton John's 1973 hit "Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)," featuring John himself, and the emotional ballad "How Far Will We Take It?" with Noah Cyrus. The latter track is accompanied by a music video that showcases the yearning for an expired romance. Peck also teams up with Midland on "The Hurtin' Kind," Allison Russell on "Chemical Sunset," Nathaniel Rateliff on "Conquer The Heart," and Bu Cuaron on "Miénteme."

"Stampede: Vol. 1" marks Peck's first release since his acclaimed sophomore album "Bronco" in 2022. Known for pushing boundaries and defying expectations, Peck's music has always been a unique blend of country and beyond. His self-produced debut album "Pony" (2019) won rave reviews and spawned singles "Dead Of Night" and "Take You Back". By the time he released his second album, Peck had already carved out a niche for himself in the country music scene and beyond.

The release of "Stampede: Vol. 1" coincides with the announcement of Peck's upcoming "Stampede" headline tour, which kicks off on May 28 in Asheville, NC, and includes dates across the United States and Canada. With a star-studded lineup of collaborators and a tour on the horizon, Orville Peck continues to solidify his position as one of the most exciting and innovative artists in country music today.
