Transformers #8 Unleashes Converging Wars and New Decepticon Astrotrain

The Energon Universe is set to erupt with a convergence of wars on Cybertron and Earth in the upcomingTransformers comic bookissue #8, written by Daniel Warren Johnson and illustrated by Jorge Corona. Slated for release on June 12, 2024, this pivotal chapter introduces a powerful new recruit to the Decepticons: Astrotrain.

Astrotrain, one of the first Triple Changers in Transformers lore, makes his Energon Universe debut in this issue, seekingrevenge against Megatron. Soundwave leads the Decepticons to retrieve their warship, the Nemesis, where they encounter Astrotrain, who has been imprisoned. In a shocking turn of events, Soundwave promises Astrotrain the chance to deal with Megatron once they find him, stating,"When we find him, I swear. Megatron will be yours. To do with as you will."

The arrival of Astrotrain is the latest development in the tumultuous Energon Universe, where multiple characters are seeking vengeance and power. Megatron recently broke free from imprisonment by the secret society Cobra-La and is on a mission to exact revenge on Starscream, who was responsible for separating him from the other Decepticons, as revealed in the FCBD Energon Universe Special.

Astrotrain's debut in the Energon Universe raises intriguing questions about his past and his imprisonment on the Nemesis. In the original Transformers continuity, Astrotrain assembled an army of drones made from human-built trains, dubbed the "Astroforce." His ability to transform into a space shuttle and a locomotive train makes him a formidable addition to the Decepticon ranks.

Transformers #8 is poised to deliver a thrilling chapter in the Energon Universe saga, with the convergence of wars on Cybertron and Earth and the introduction of Astrotrain setting the stage for explosive conflicts and shifting alliances. The issue, published byImage Comics, is now on sale from Skybound Entertainment.
