Holland Taylor and Ana Villafañe to Star in World Premiere ofN/Aat Lincoln Center

Emmy Award winner Holland Taylor and Drama League and Outer Critics Circle nominee Ana Villafañe are set to star in the world premiere of the new play N/A, directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus. The play, written by Mario Correa, will begin performances at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater at Lincoln Center on June 11, with an official opening set for June 23.

The two-hander play is inspired by real people and events, specifically the lives of Nancy Pelosi, the first female Speaker of the House, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the youngest woman ever elected to Congress. N/A centers on a battle of wills and wits between two congresswomen who are generations apart. "N/A is a whip smart battle of wills – and wits – between N, the first woman Speaker of the House, and A, the youngest woman ever elected to Congress," the official synopsis states.

Holland Taylor, an Emmy winner for her role in The Practice, made her Broadway debut in 1965 and has since earned a Tony nomination for her solo play Ann, based on the life of Texas Governor Ann Richards. Her most recent Broadway credit was the 2016 revival of The Front Page. Ana Villafañe made her Broadway debut in 2015 originating the role of Gloria Estefan in the musical On Your Feet! and has since appeared in productions such as Chicago and In The Heights.

The creative team for N/A includes Myung Hee Cho (scenic and costume design), Mextly Couzin (lighting design), Sunny Kil (sound design), and Yee Eun Nam (projection design). The play is produced by Jeffrey Richards, Bob Boyett, Louise Gund, Hunter Arnold, M/B/P Productions, and Broadway Breakfast Club.

Playwright Mario Correa previously worked as a Congressional aide and is best known for his acclaimed 2015 Off-Broadway comedy Tail! Spin! Director Diane Paulus has numerous Broadway credits to her name, including the current revival of 1776 as well as Jagged Little Pill, Waitress, and herTony-winning revivalof Pippin.

N/Amarks a timely exploration of power, politics, and the challenges of progress through the lens of two trailblazing women in Congress. With a star-studded cast and creative team, the world premiere play is poised to be one of the most anticipated new works of thesummer theater season.
