The Purnell Swett girls soccer team, seeded 7th in the 4A East Region, is set to host 26th-seeded Enloe in the first round of the state playoffs on Monday at 7:00 p.m. in Pembroke, NC. The Lady Rams recently earned a share of the United-8 Conference regular-season championship, securing their spot in the playoffs.

Enloe, who finished fourth in the CAP-6 Conference with an 11-7-2 record, enters the playoffs having lost four of its last five games. They fell to Holly Springs in the first round last season. Meanwhile, Purnell Swett boasts a 20-1 record heading into the matchup vs Enloe.

The Lady Rams have made recent playoff appearances in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022, but did not advance past the first round in any of those seasons. This will mark the first time Purnell Swett hosts a girls soccer playoff game in Pembroke.

The winner of Monday's game will face either No. 10 Pinecrest or No. 23 Pine Forest in the second round on Thursday. The North Carolina High School Athletic Association released the playoff brackets on Friday.

Purnell Swett looks to make history by advancing to the second round of the state playoffs for the first time. They will have home-field advantage and momentum from their stellar regular season as they begin their postseason journey against Enloe on Monday night.
