Pertamina Mandalika Circuit to Host JDM Run 2024 Time Attack Race

The Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, will host the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) Run 2024 time attack race from April 28 to May 1, 2024. The event, organized by JDM Run in collaboration with InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), will feature 85 high-performance Japanese cars from across Indonesia competing in three driver experience and vehicle specification categories.

Participants will be divided into Non-Experienced, Experienced, and Pro categories based on their driving experience, as well as Standard Class, Street Class, and Race Class for vehicle specifications. This format ensures a fair and exciting competition for all participants, allowing them to compete within their respective skill levels and vehicle classes.

Why this matters: The JDM Run 2024 event at the Mandalika International Circuit marks a significant milestone for the Indonesian motorsports community. It showcases the growing popularity and enthusiasm for Japanese sports cars in the country while providing a platform for enthusiasts to compete and showcase their skills on a world-class racing circuit.

JDM Run, the largest Japanese Domestic Market sports car community in Indonesia, previously held a successful event at the Sentul International Circuit six years ago. The upcoming Time Attack event at the Mandalika International Circuit is the first trial project for JDM Run at this venue, aiming to strengthen Mandalika's position as a sports and entertainment tourism destination.

"This event is a collaboration between JDM Run, ITDC, and the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA)," said a representative from ITDC, a subsidiary of the State-Owned Tourism Holding Company InJourney, which manages the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit.

The event organizers hope that the JDM Run 2024 will promote safe and responsible driving among Japanese sports car enthusiasts while providing an exciting and engaging competition for participants and spectators alike. The success of this event could pave the way for more automotive events at the Mandalika International Circuit in the future.
