SubseaPartner Wins Contracts for Diving Services at Goliat and Balder Fields

SubseaPartner, a Norwegian diving contractor, has secured contracts from Vår Energi to deliver diving intervention services and carry out 24-hour inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) operations at the Goliat and Balder fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). The project management and engineering activities have already commenced at SubseaPartner's headquarters in Haugesund, with offshore operations scheduled for the upcoming summer season.

Why this matters: This development highlights the importance of efficient maintenance and repair operations in the oil and gas industry, ensuring the continuous production and supply of energy resources. The success of such projects also underscores the significance of investing in innovative technologies and expertise to support the industry's growth and sustainability.

At the Goliat field, SubseaPartner will execute a continuous 24-hour IMR operation on the Goliat FPSO for three weeks, utilizing the Light Diving Craft (LDC) method at a depth range of 15-29 meters of seawater. For the Balder field, the company will provide diving intervention contingency and tooling during the scheduled SURF operations on the Balder FPU.

Anders Remøy Bertelsen, Managing Director of SubseaPartner, emphasized the significance of these projects, stating, "These two projects underscore our position as a leading diving contractor in the shallow-deep segment (0 to 50 meters of seawater), improving accessibility and versatility where remote intervention proves challenging or not feasible." He further added, "We aim to deliver 'Life in Field Extension' of floating assets, safeguarding our customers' operability and production targets, while maintaining safety and efficiency."

The diving personnel and the LDC Venturer spread will be mobilized on the Olympic Ares and Edda Freya vessels for the offshore operations. SubseaPartner's expertise in shallow-deep diving and their commitment to delivering efficient and safe services have positioned them as a trusted partner for operators in the Norwegian oil and gas industry.
