A Tunisian business mission of 20 companies is participating in the Hispack 2024 trade fair in Barcelona, Spain, seeking to explore new markets and packaging technologies. The 19th edition of Hispack, the leading container and packaging fair in Spain, is taking place at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via venue in May 2024.

Why this matters: The success of the Hispack 2024 trade fair has implications for the global packaging industry, as it showcases innovations and solutions that can be adopted by companies worldwide. Furthermore, the focus on sustainability in packaging can have a significant impact on reducing waste and promoting eco-friendly practices across various sectors.

The trade fair has attracted 27,000 visitors, an 11% increase in international attendees compared to the previous edition in 2022, which saw 24,287 visitors. Hispack 2024 features 720 exhibitors from 28 countries, showcasing the latest trends and innovations in packaging.

Sustainability is the main focus of the innovations presented at the fair, with exhibitors displaying solutions to adapt packaging and associated production and logistics processes to the new regulatory framework of the circular economy. The fair also features a program of activities that promotes interaction and sectoral debate.

Jordi Bernabeu, President of Hispack, stated, "The fair has attracted visitors with decision-making power thanks to a powerful commercial offer representative of the entire packaging life cycle and a program of activities that has promoted interaction and the sectoral debate in a moment of transformation like the current one." Xavier Pascual, Director of Hispack, highlighted the generalist nature of the fair as one of its strengths in bringing together professionals from different industries and facilitating the permeability of innovation and cross-knowledge around packaging between various sectors.

Jordi Hereu, Minister of Industry and Tourism, described the fair as "the magnificent thermometer of the industrial climate that the fair represents since if the packaging does well, it means that the other user industries increase demand."

Exhibitors at Hispack 2024 expressed satisfaction with the commercial contacts made during the event, emphasizing the quality of the visitors and their interest in solving specific challenges linked to sustainability. The next edition of Hispack is scheduled to take place from May 4 to 7, 2027.

The participation of the Tunisian business mission in Hispack 2024 underscores the importance of the trade fair in connecting companies with new markets and technologies in the packaging industry. With a focus on sustainability and innovation, Hispack continues to be a key event for professionals in the sector.
