Costa Coffee has opened its first-ever store in Winsford, Cheshire, marking a significant milestone in the £22.5 million council-led regeneration of the town centre. The new store, which features a drive-thru and both indoor and outdoor seating, has created 11 new jobs for the local community.

Why this matters: This regeneration project has the potential to revitalize the entire town centre, attracting new businesses and visitors, and contributing to the local economy. As a key part of this effort, the Costa Coffee store's success could have a ripple effect on the surrounding area, influencing future development and investment decisions.

Councillor Nathan Pardoe expressed his delight at the opening, stating, "The opening of this Costa Coffee store marks an important milestone in the first phase of Cheshire West and Chester Council's regeneration of Winsford town centre, and I am delighted to welcome Costa Coffee to Winsford."

Costa Coffee, Regional Operations Director at Costa Coffee, shared his enthusiasm for the new store, saying, "We are thrilled to bring Costa Coffee to Winsford and become a part of this wonderful community. Our new – and first-ever store – in the town is set to create a welcoming space where people can come together, relax and enjoy quality time with friends and family over a tasty coffee and some delicious treats."

The £22.5 million regeneration project, funded by the council and the Government's Future High Street Fund, represents the biggest investment in Winsford town centre since the 1960s. The council acquired the site in 2018 for £21 million, and the project includes the construction of a 168-space car park, improvements to walking and cycling access, and refurbishment of the town's war memorials.

The new Costa Coffee store, which opened on Friday, May 10, boasts a modern design with fresh artwork and gloss ceramic tiles. It operates from 6:30am to 7pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm on Saturday, and 6am to 6pm on Sundays.

The opening of Costa Coffee in Winsford is a key part of the town centre's ongoing regeneration, which aims to revitalize the area and attract new businesses and visitors. With its modern facilities, welcoming atmosphere, and job creation, the store is set to become a popular destination for locals and contribute to the town's economic growth.
