George Stulz, a 91-year-old farmer and community contributor from Muscatine, Iowa, passed away on May 10, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of agricultural innovation and a loving family.

Born on August 1, 1932, in Belvedere, Illinois, to Fred and Allie Stulz, George married Irene Simon on February 20, 1954, in River Grove, Illinois. The couple started their family and farming careers in Belvedere before moving to a farm east of Muscatine in 1970, which they christened "Stacres." The farm remains operational today.

Throughout his career, George was known as a consummate farmer who kept up with the latest agricultural innovations and monitored crop prices. He served on the boards of the Rock Island County Farm Bureau and the Drury County Drainage District. In 2012, George was inducted into the Rock Island County Farm Bureau Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions to agriculture.

George and Irene also established the "George and Irene Stulz Family Scholarship" to contribute to the farming community. Irene preceded George in death on November 23, 2011. In 2013, George married Kathy (Mary) Estelle and moved to Illinois City.

George is survived by his children, Jim Stulz (Melissa), Ken Stulz, and Susan Stulz (Cris Schiebold); his grandchildren, Montana Stulz, Brianna Stulz, Kolt Stulz, and Sage Stulz; and 8 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home in Muscatine. The funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, May 16th, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Mary Mathias Catholic Church, also in Muscatine. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
