Irwin Family Gathers in Las Vegas to Honor Steve Irwin's Legacy

The Irwin family, including Terri, Bindi, and Robert, are preparing to hostThe Steve Irwin Galain Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday, May 11, 2024. The annual event aims to celebrate the life and legacy of the late Steve Irwin, also known as the "original Wildlife Warrior," and raise funds to continue his conservation work worldwide.

In a special segment with ET, the family shared fond memories of their father, who passed away in 2006 at the age of 44. Terri, Bindi, and Robert reminisced about Steve's ability to maintain a sense of childlike wonder, which they believe was the secret to his success. "He stayed three years old for his whole life, and that was his secret to success. So, may we all be like Grace and marvel at everything always," Terri Irwin said, referring to her granddaughter, Grace Warrior.

Bindi Irwin shared a heartwarming memory of her father taking her "looking for fairies" on their conservation properties and at the Australia Zoo, where they work and live. "Looking back now -- I don't want to take away from the magic -- but he may have had a certain watch that perfectly reflected the sunlight and made the magic come to light and it was really special because I would look for fairies and I would name them... Dad made sure the magic was alive," Bindi recalled.

Terri Irwin praised her granddaughter, Grace Warrior, who is Bindi's 3-year-old daughter with husband Chandler Powell. Terri noted that Grace has a similar sense of wonder, often sharing animal facts and finding magic in everyday things.

The Steve Irwin Gala serves as a tribute to the late conservationist, who dedicated his life to protecting wildlife and promoting conservation efforts. Through his work at the Australia Zoo and his popular television series "The Crocodile Hunter," Steve Irwin inspired millions around the world to appreciate and protect the natural world.

The Irwin family continues Steve's legacy through their work at the Australia Zoo and the Wildlife Warriors organization. The Steve Irwin Gala in Las Vegas aims to raise funds to support conservation projects and animal welfare initiatives, ensuring that Steve's passion for wildlife lives on through the efforts of his family and supporters worldwide.
